Terms of service

Last updated 31 July 2026

These terms cover your use of extractbrand — the website, the API at api.extractbrand.com and the sampler on the home page. Using any of them means you accept them. If you are accepting on behalf of a company, you are confirming you may bind it.

What the service does

You give us a domain. We open that company's own public pages in a browser, measure what renders, and return the logos, colour roles and type we found, with a confidence figure and a list of the fields we could not resolve. We read the pages a domain publishes to anyone with a browser. We do not sign in, do not defeat access controls, and do not read anything behind a login.

What we do with the brand data we read

The result is cached, and the cache is shared. When we read a domain for the first time, the result is stored against that domain and then served to any other caller who asks for the same domain. There is one entry per domain for the whole service, not one per customer. This is deliberate: it is why a domain someone has already sampled costs nothing to read again, and it is the model the pricing is built on.

If you are a brand owner and you do not want your brand served from that cache, use the process on the removal and DMCA page. We check that the person asking controls the domain before we act, and once a removal is applied the API answers the read with a refusal instead of the brand, and re-sampling that domain stops working.

Your account and your keys

You are responsible for what happens under your API keys. Keep them out of client-side code and rotate them if they leak. We may suspend a key that is being used against the acceptable use policy, and we will tell you why.

Fees

Reads of a domain already in the cache are free and unmetered. Fresh reads — a domain new to us — are metered, and the rate that applies to a call is the one published on the pricing section of the home page at the time you make it. That page is the rate; it is also where a change to it appears.

Availability and changes

We publish no uptime figure, because we have not measured one over a period long enough to state honestly. The service is provided as it is: we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or withdraw parts of it. The API carries its version in the path, and /v1 is the only version there is today.

What we do not warrant

An extraction is a measurement, not a certification. We report how sure we are, per field, and name the fields no specialist could resolve — read those before you put a result in front of your own customer. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim connected to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim.

Ending it

You can stop using the service and close your account whenever you like. We may end your access if you break these terms or the acceptable use policy. Ending your account does not by itself remove a brand from the shared cache — that is the separate process on the removal and DMCA page.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions about them go to hello@extractbrand.com.
